Problem Statement

Research question: Can a resume be automatically scored for ATS compatibility, with specific, actionable feedback on what's holding it back?

Most resumes are rejected by automated screening before a human ever reads them — often due to fixable issues the applicant can't detect. This project analyzes an uploaded resume and returns an ATS compatibility score alongside concrete strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations.

Rule-based, not a trained model — deliberately

No public dataset maps resume text to actual ATS scores. Real tools like Jobscan use rule-based scoring, the same approach used here — checking what a knowledgeable recruiter would check.
