Why does the same snack cost more three streets over? The data has an answer.

Synthetic, anchored to real patterns

Problem Statement

Research question: Does the price of everyday items genuinely vary by street within the same neighborhood, and does that variation track business density and distance from the main junction?

Everyone who's shopped around a busy market area has noticed the same snack costing differently a few streets over, with no clear explanation. This project maps street-level pricing and footfall for Dilsukh Nagar, Hyderabad — Unicus's own primary marketing zone.

What the dashboard shows

Pick any of six items and the chart, price range, and density scatter redraw from the real underlying data table. MRP-fixed items stay close to their printed price everywhere; non-MRP items show real, meaningful variation.

Data status, stated honestly

The dataset is synthetic, generated to be statistically realistic, not collected from real shops. Real street names are used; the shops and prices attached to them are generated, not observed.
